Is the Right Agent/Person Managing Your Property?

Being a landlord in today’s industry is tough, there is a lot of legislation to keep on top of. To help, letting agents have all been kept on their toes with the new Letting Agent Code of Conduct. This applies to anyone carrying out letting agency work, no matter how few properties they manage.

These individuals should have registered to have become a letting agent and prior to registration they must have completed a specific qualification.

This is to ensure the agent is suitable to carry out the job and all properties across Scotland are managed to a certain standard. Tenants and landlords can have peace of mind that their property is looked after with best practice being adhered to.

It is common knowledge that only a third of letting agents have registered - consequently there are two thirds of agents managing properties who should not be.

Make sure that your property is not one of them.
