New Tenancy Agreement as of December 2017

As of the 1st December, all short assured tenancy agreements will be replaced by the new Private Residential Tenancy. This will only affect new tenancies as of this date and will not replace existing short assured tenancies. Should any existing short assured tenancies come to an end after this date, the new PRT will come into play.

There have been some changes to the tenancy such as; a reduction in the number of notices that a landlord needs to provide, as well as adapting to communicating any notice in conjunction with the PRT by email rather than hard copy.

The grounds for notice to end the tenancy have also changed, there are now 18 and one must be listed when servicing notice on a tenant.
