As of the 1st December, all short assured tenancy agreements will be replaced by the new Private Residential Tenancy. Today was the first step in the training required for the Letting Agent Code of Practice which will come into effect on 31st January 2018. All letting agents must be registered by September 2018 - a welcome change to a busy marketplace. If you are a landlord, make sure your agent is compliant and if you are unsure you will be able to access the register held by Scottish Ministers next year.
